Havana, Cuba

Havana, capital of the island of Cuba, with its walls affected by time, its pavements sprinkled with fragment, his clubs of salsa, its noisy streets impressed me of a show of end of the world. But I did not stay for a long time to claim it connaitre the real face. It reigns there nevertheless a pleasant atmosphere in certain districts as the street Obispo, long pedestrian street where find themselves all the tourists, with its numerous bars, restaurants and their bands, Malecon, long ledge along the sea, in the North of the city, where some fishermen are divided places in rocks, paseo del prado where we can join the sea since the city center by walking on a long and wide paved esplanade, the bario chino where you will find the best restaurants of the city.

There is also "la casa de la musica", one near "parque central" and the other one in Miramas where occur the groups of Cuban salsa among which some of international fame. Attention on the beautiful lonesome girls, they often are what one call "Jinteras" which will easily offer their company in exchange of some glasses or more...

Generally speaking, as soon as you are located as tourist, (clothing, backpack, camera) you are often requested but Cubans are not too insistent if you make them understand firmly and politely that you are not interested.

I did not stay for a long time in Havanne because of the pressure which we find in any big cities and of the extreme pollution due to the 50s American cars which release a black and asphyxiante smoke twenty four hours on twenty four. A good plan to escape is to reserve a place for the coach due to leave for Vinales every morning in 7:30. If you live in the center, that is made in the hotel Ingletera and avoids you taking a taxi until the exit of the city to reunite the official buses.
